Café del Mar is one of the main reasons people hear about Kamala before they arrive. The helpful thing to know is that it is not sitting in the middle of a loud nightlife strip. It is at the northern end of Kamala Beach, beside a much more premium cluster: InterContinental Phuket, Pine Beach Bar, Novotel Kamala, Twinpalms MontAzure and the wider MontAzure area.
That location matters. You can treat Café del Mar as a single event venue, or you can build a full afternoon around north Kamala: beach walk, late lunch, resort sundowner, then music as the light drops.
Timing makes a difference
Phuket101 notes that Café del Mar tends to work best from late afternoon into sunset. It can become very busy on Saturdays and event nights, and loungers or daybeds may involve minimum spend. If you only want a drink and the view, bar seating or shorter visits can make more sense than committing to a full daybed setup.
Also worth knowing: Phuket beach rules mean beach clubs are generally set behind the beach/tree line rather than directly occupying the sand. So the experience is beach-adjacent, not always “toes in the sand” in the way guests imagine from photos.
What to do nearby
- Walk the northern section of Kamala Beach before sunset, especially in high season.
- Use Pine Beach Bar for a more resort-led sundowner or quieter weekday evening.
- Book Café del Mar ahead for bigger event nights instead of arriving blind.
- If travelling with family, keep Phuket FantaSea and Carnival Magic as nearby evening options, but check show days first.
- Watch traffic and parking around sunset; arriving earlier is calmer than trying to appear exactly at golden hour.
Why this area is commercially interesting
Café del Mar gives north Kamala international visibility, but it is not the whole story. The surrounding hotels and residences bring a higher-value audience that is already in the area for beach clubs, resort dining, wellness and sunset routines. That is why small, well-curated lifestyle projects around here can work differently from a random row of shopfronts.
One MontAzure belongs to that second layer: the place you stop for tea, food, essentials, wellness or an easy meeting point before or after the beach-club part of the day.
Quick notes
Where is One MontAzure?
In north Kamala Beach, Phuket, close to Café del Mar, InterContinental Phuket Resort and the MontAzure community.
What is the project?
An open-air dining, retail and wellness destination opening Q4 2026, with selected opportunities still available for concepts that fit Kamala’s beach-lifestyle audience.
